Barcelona’s President, Joan Laporta, has expressed hope that the sole factor that could prevent Spain from defeating Argentina in the final of the 2026 World Cup is the referee’s inability to manage the match effectively.
He mentioned that if the referee stands firm against intimidation, Spain would have a significant opportunity to triumph over Argentina.
Laporta further asserted that La Roja possesses a superior chance of clinching victory, which would secure them the coveted trophy.
He also stated that La Roja boasts a stronger squad compared to their Argentine rivals.
In his remarks to EL Partidazo, he said, “We have the better team. If the referee is assertive, Spain will have increased chances of winning.”
