A two-day blackout has hit the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, National Assembly Annex, Supreme Court, and other parts of Abuja.
This development follows an announcement by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company
in a notice.
The disco said the electricity disruption in parts of Abuja would take place on Saturday and Sunday.
According to AEDC, the blackout is a result of the planned relocation of electric power towers from the 132kV/33kV Apo Transmission station to facilitate road construction.
The company listed the areas in Abuja that will be affected by the outage to include “Nass Annex, Aso Drive & State House Villa, NSA, IBB Golf Club, NJC, Supreme Court, Julius Berger, National Assembly, SGF, DIA & Residence, State House Clinic, Command Guest House, Lungi Barracks, Mambilla Barracks, Aguyi Ironsi Barracks, DSS Headquarters, W.U. Bassey & Extension, Niger Barracks, Gowon Barracks, NAOWA Complex, Army Museum, Army War College, Army Intelligence Unit, Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Kano, Sokoto, and Imo Governors’ Lodges, SPDC Quarters, Gado Nasko Street, NIA, Asokoro Extension, TY Danjuma Street, Jose Marti Street, NAF Valley, The Carlton Well Apartment (Asokoro), Eyadema Street, Samora Machel Street, Kwame Nkrumah Street, Nelson Mandela Street, Desmond Tutu Street, Julius Nyerere Street, General Hospital Asokoro, FHA, ECOWAS Secretariat, World Bank, Senator Obiora Street, Udo Udoma Street, Haile Selassie Street, Guzape, and surrounding areas.”
