The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has suspended four officers for allegedly stealing N43.1 million from a suspect arrested over “cash smuggling”. The suspended officers are Peter Ejike, a lawyer in charge of zone 7 legal section; Ekende Edwin, an inspector; Talabi Kayode, a sergeant; and Esther Okafor, an inspector. All the officers are attached to the zone 7 headquarters in Abuja. Arewa Consultative Forum has recalled its suspended National Chairman, Mamman Mike Osuman. Osuman was suspended by the ACF after declaring that the North would not support President Bola Tinubu in 2027. Secretary-General of the Forum, Malam Murtala Aliyu, disclosed Osuman’s recall in a statement on Wednesday. Court papers filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have linked the immediate-past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to the massive Abuja property with 753 duplexes and other apartments located in the Cadastral Zone area of the capital city.
