England head coach, Thomas Tuchel, announced his 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Friday.
The World Cup will take place this summer in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, Phil Foden, and Cole Palmer are the most significant absentees.
Morgan Gibbs-White, recognized as one of the Premier League’s most outstanding players at present, also did not make the selection, along with Adam Wharton and Luke Shaw.
In a surprising move, Ivan Toney has been included in the squad as a forward, alongside Djed Spence, who has been chosen over Trent Alexander-Arnold and Lewis Hall for the full-back position.
The 26-man World Cup squad for England is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, James Trafford
Defenders: Ezri Konsa, John Stones, Marc Guehi, Jarell Quansah, Tino Livarmento, Nico O’Reilly, Djed Spence, Reece James
Midfielders: Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson, Jordan Henderson, Morgan Rogers, Jude Bellingham, Eberechi Eze
Forwards: Harry Kane, Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Gordon
