Tijjani Galadima support group debunks rumour of withdrawal from 2027 Adamawa governorship race

From Tom Garba, Yola

The campaign machinery behind Tijjani Ahmed Galadima (popularly known as TG-2027), a prominent aspirant for the 2027 Adamawa State governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has firmly dismissed circulating social media reports claiming that the aspirant has dissociated himself from the race.

In an official statement released today, John Hamman, Director and Coordinator of the Tijjani Ahmed Galadima Support Groups, described the viral post as “entirely false, baseless, and a desperate attempt by detractors to weaken the growing momentum” of Galadima’s grassroots movement.

Hamman emphasized Galadima’s unwavering commitment, stating: “Tijjani Ahmed Galadima remains fully committed to the call of the people of Adamawa State. His dedication to service is not a ‘rumor’—it is a mission to restore the dignity and prosperity of our home state.”

Highlighting Galadima’s credentials as a technocrat and current Executive Secretary/Chief Executive of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), the statement positioned him as a credible, people-centered candidate who prioritizes grassroots engagement over political intrigue.

Supporters argue that his national experience in the energy sector, focus on youth empowerment, infrastructure, education, and peace-building makes him a frontrunner among APC contenders.

“The 2027 vision is clear: our structures across every local government and ward are intact and expanding,” Hamman added. “We see these false reports for what they are—a sign that the opposition is intimidated by the overwhelming support Galadima is receiving.”

The rebuttal comes amid an intensifying race for the Adamawa governorship ticket, where multiple aspirants—including figures like Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), Senator Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow, and others—are positioning themselves ahead of party primaries.

Recent youth mobilizations and calls for power shifts to the central zone have further amplified Galadima’s visibility, with groups urging him to contest and praising his integrity and connections.

Hamman urged supporters, volunteers, and Adamawa citizens to disregard the misinformation and stay focused on building a stronger future under Galadima’s leadership. “Adamawa deserves the best. Adamawa deserves Tijjani Ahmed Galadima,” he concluded.

The statement has not been independently verified by the campaign of other aspirants or the APC state leadership at the time of this report. No evidence of an official withdrawal or dissociation from Galadima has surfaced from credible sources.

This medium will continue to monitor developments in the Adamawa 2027 governorship contest as political activities heat up across parties.
