Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is surrounding himself with those who wanted to be governor of the state.
Wike stated this made while addressing a large number of Kalabari people at a grand reception in Rivers State on Saturday.
The Minister faulted Fubara’s political allies, describing them as ‘bad’ advisers.
“You (Fubara) surrounded yourself with people who wanted to be governor, whom I said ‘no, these people don’t mean well for Rivers State.’ They are the ones surrounding you, giving you advice. Do you think you will succeed? They will give bad advice, and look at what bad advice is doing to you. You are already down 2-0, and there’s more to come,” he said.
Wike had earlier alleged that Fubara was not an Ijaw man.
The latest outburst against Fubara followed his recent budget presentation letter to the Martins Amaewhule’s led Rivers House of Assembly.
But the Assembly on Friday declared an indefinite recess
Supreme Court, in a recent judgement delivered by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, had ordered the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resume sitting immediately.
