Top chieftains of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, including presidential candidate Peter Obi, running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso, and party National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson, on Monday converged on Abuja for a crucial National Executive Committee meeting.
The high-stakes gathering in the nation’s capital, drew a massive turnout of party chieftains, flag bearers, and enthusiastic supporters from across the nation, signalling the party’s intensified push to challenge the ruling party in the upcoming general elections.

Monday’s NEC meeting marks the anchor of a packed sequence of events organised by the party.
Beyond mapping out campaign strategy, the NDC scheduled the grand opening of its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja, the formal inauguration of its National Campaign Council, and the presentation of Certificates of Return to candidates contesting presidential, governorship, National Assembly, and state assembly seats.
A celebratory dinner will cap off the day’s activities.
Outlining the agenda, NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, emphasised that the party will also unveil its campaign council structure and present a full statement of account during its 3rd NEC session, a move he described as a core commitment to transparency and accountability.
