Dele Farotimi, Prof Talabi  set to dissect pros and cons of national protests on Boiling Point Arena

A review of the recent National Protests in Nigeria tagged #endbadgovernance will take the centrestage on Sunday August 11, 2024 on the popular monthly interview discourse, BOILING POINT ARENA.

To mount the podium as Guest Speakers/Discussants are notable social commentator and activist, Dele Farotimi and a prominent University lecturer, Prof Oladele Talabi.

Topic of discourse is *“The National Protests: Gain or Loss? The Threats to Democratic Cohesion and Remedies”*

The global online discourse, which holds via Zoom is to be transmitted live on a radio station, Sweet 107.1FM, for a two-hour duration beginning from 8pm.

The once-in-a-month current affairs programme with an incredibly large online followership, is the brainchild of the Convener, Dr Ayo Arowojolu, a media professional with 34 years multi-varied work career experience spanning the media, banking and education sectors.

The duo of Comrade Farotimi and Prof Talabi are to offer perspectives as to the pros and cons of the protests which has entered Day Six in some parts of the country since it began on Thursday August 1, 2024.

Farotimi is a writer, author and member of Citizens’ Rally Against Oppression. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999 and remained in active legal practice until his retirement in 2018 at age 50.

For his part, Prof Talabi is a public affairs analyst and Professor of Veterinary Medicine with over 27 years of full time university teaching, research and extension experience in four universities.

A foremost traditional ruler, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, is expected to deliver a keynote speech to herald the discourse, in his capacity as Chairman, Boiling Point Council of Royals and Elders.

According to a statement by the Chairman, Organizing Committee for the programme,  Dr Eddy Ademosu, one of Nigeria’s foremost Public Relations Icon, the interview discourse will in particular point the way forward for reinventing the nation’s economy in such a way to reduce outcry of hardship by Nigerians.

Mr Ademosu commended the Management of Sweet FM, chaired by its Promoter, Senator Olugbenga Obadara, for identifying with worthy causes through partnering with the Boiling Point platform to widen the audience reach of the programme via its terrestrial and online channels

BOILING POINT, a news and general interest Group comprises an array of eminent personalities including over 300 Professors, technocrats, industry leaders, High Court Justices, traditional rulers, security top shots, media professionals and several others.
