A train conveying passengers from Kaduna State to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Sunday, derailed at Jere, a Kaduna suburb. The train carrying dozens of passengers departed Kaduna around 8:05 a.m. It, however, derailed at Jere about an hour later. An online medium, Premium Times, said Lamorde’s ‘close associates’ disclosed that the ex-EFCC boss died on Sunday in Egypt, where he had travelled for medical treatment.
