Breaking: Abuja-bound train derails in Kaduna

A train conveying passengers from Kaduna State to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Sunday, derailed at Jere, a Kaduna suburb.

The train carrying dozens of passengers departed Kaduna around 8:05 a.m. It, however, derailed at Jere about an hour later.

Security operatives, including police operatives and troops of the Nigerian Army have immediately been deployed to protect and offer support to the affected passengers.

No fewer than three of the train’s carriages ran off the tracks.
