As political activities continue to intensify in Adamawa State, communities in the southern part of the state are increasingly voicing their opinions on who they believe is best suited to lead them. This momentum led to the organization of a significant gathering aimed at declaring support and urging Dr. Salihu Bakari Girei to contest for the governorship seat.

The event was held at the main conference hall in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State. It brought together stakeholders and supporters who expressed their endorsement and called on Dr. Girei to run under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at the event, the chairman of the gathering, Alhaji Hamman Kogoli, stated that the meeting was convened to inform communities across various local government areas about Dr. Girei’s vision, commitment, and developmental agenda for the state.

One of the participants from Guyuk Local Government Area, Jona Palta, described the moment as a crucial opportunity that should be embraced to foster development in the state. He noted that Dr. Girei is a grassroots-oriented leader who demonstrated his capacity during his tenure as Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), particularly through impactful projects in rural communities such as Guyuk.

In his remarks, Alhaji Shito Adamu from Shelleng Local Government Area emphasized that there is hardly any part of Adamawa State that has not benefitted from Dr. Girei’s contributions. He added that they would return to their communities to mobilize support, encouraging people to rally behind him in anticipation of a new style of leadership that promises progress.

Similarly, a female participant from Ganye Local Government Area conveyed appreciation, commendation, and goodwill on behalf of the people of Ganye. She also offered prayers for Dr. Girei’s success in his political journey.

The event concluded with a closing remark from the chairman, Alhaji Hamman Kogoli, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and prayed for their safe return to their respective homes.
