FUNAAB Zoo Park on Thursday held a highly impactful Fire Safety Workshop in collaboration with Stamp Multiventures.
The event was designed to enhance the safety and preparedness of the park, ensuring a secure environment for both visitors and staff as it continues its journey towards becoming a world-class tourist destination.
The workshop was expertly facilitated by Dr. Adeniran Adeleye, owner of Stamp Multiventures and a proud alumnus of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Adeleye’s dedication to his alma mater was evident as he provided hands-on training in fire prevention and emergency response.
He attributed his contribution and the organization of this training as a personal sacrifice aimed at supporting Prof. Sammy O. Sam-Wobo, Director of FUNAAB Zoo Park, in his mission to transform the park into a leading international destination.
CEO of First Heritage Culture and Tourism Ltd. and another esteemed FUNAAB alumnus, Omoba Ogundeko, also demonstrated his commitment to giving back to the University through a generous donation.
He provided six customized raincoats and umbrellas, further enhancing the park’s ability to ensure staff comfort and safety, especially during the rainy season.
The event was graced by several notable attendees, including Chairman CODAD, Prof T. Akinwale, the Chief Security Officer, Mr. Bolarinwa Peters; a representative of the Department of Pure and Applied Zoology, Dr. Bamidele, representatives from the Public Relations Office, FUNAAB; and a representative from FUNAAB Radio, reflecting the broader university community’s support for this important initiative.
In his welcome address, Prof. Sammy O. Sam-Wobo emphasized the importance of fire safety in the day-to-day operations of the Zoo Park.
According to him, his vision for the park is to elevate its status while ensuring the utmost safety for all.
The presence of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kolawole Adebayo as Chairman of the occasion, further underscored the university’s commitment to this cause.
Prof. Adebayo expressed deep appreciation for the donors’ goodwill, highlighting how their contributions are instrumental in advancing the park’s safety measures and overall development.
Dr. Adeniran Adeleye’s donation of two universal fire extinguishers, 10 reflective jackets, and 10 reusable masks was particularly lauded, as these items will significantly bolster the park’s emergency preparedness.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor expressed sincere gratitude to both Dr. Adeleye and Omoba Ogundeko for their unwavering support and dedication to the progress of FUNAAB Zoo Park.
