The Ogun State Government has emphasised the need to embrace maintenance culture of critical state infrastructure to ensure citizens get value for their tax.

Speaking at the revalidation of the States Rural Access And Agricultural Marketing Project (OG-RAAMP), of the markets to be intervened at the Oke-Mosan Governor’s Office, on Thursday, the Acting Project Coordinator, Engr. Waheed Adejumo said the treatment of government intervention project as “nobody’s business is not helpful to neither the governed nor the government “

His advisory came when the Consultant to the RAAMP on physical improvement of markets across the three senatorial districts in the state, All-4-Bearing Nig. Ltd. made a presentation of the to the management of the Oja-Odan, Kila and Ajebo market, Makun-Omi.

“We are appealing to the managers of the markets which fall in the brackets for first intervention to make sure that the facilities in the markets are well-taken care of. It is your money, you should therefore own the project. RAAMP will wind down by June 2026, other government interventionist agencies to expand on it should be happy at how these new facilities are use,” the Acting Coordinator stated.

The Agro-logistics Officer for RAAMP, Dr. Funmi Beckley, while assuring the timely completion of the markets expansion said the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun ” is wholeheartedly committed to delivering the project in record time,”

Earlier in his presentation, the Coordinator of All-4-Bearing, Mr. Adewuyi Odusina, commended the State government for what he described as “unrepentant committed to the modernisation of the selected Agro-logistic centers,” adding ” the government is not expanding and modernising markets for the sake of it, at the push of a button, buyers all over the world should know where they can get which farm produce with value-addition, at competitive price.”

Meanwhile, the representative of the three markets, Lamidi Tajudeen, who doubles as the Secretary of Kila Market Maintenance Committee, assured the project that they will use the facilities in a way that would appeal to the government to do more.
