Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has cried out that the Federal Government is doing everything to prevent him from emerging the presidential candidate of any political party in the 2027 elections.

Obi made the remarks during a sixty-minute interview on Magic FM Aba.

Obi, who described himself as the most qualified among the current presidential aspirants in Nigeria, alleged that the Federal Government’s top priority is to ensure he does not participate in the 2027 race.

“The present government is bent on making sure I am not a candidate for any party,” he said.

He also criticised the Electoral Law signed by President Bola Tinubu, describing it as shameful for excluding forgery as a crime.

“It is very shameful for Nigeria that the new Electoral Laws assented to by the President excluded forgery as a crime,” Obi said.

The former Anambra State governor added that Nigeria’s economic crises and leadership challenges require the intervention of someone with experience in business and general administration.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and several members of the ADC were in Aba to receive Obi.
