Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, on Tuesday, announced the suspension of two Computer-Based Test centres for contravening registration procedures in the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.
The statement identified the suspended CBT centres as the the Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum, Yobe State, and a CBT centre in Otukpo, Benue State.
JAMB reiterated that the suspension began on Tuesday, February 4 and will last for 14 days, until Monday, February 17.
“This suspension follows a significant procedural breach that jeopardises the security measures implemented to prevent infractions and ensure the integrity of the information provided to the board in case of any contestation,” the Board said.
It stated that CBT centres are required to ask candidates to manually input their details in a paper form before uploading them to the registration portal, along with the form filled out by the candidate as proof of the information they have provided.
JAMB further explained that some CBT centres, in a bid to increase the number of their submissions, have chosen to disregard the guidelines despite being fully briefed on the implications.
“This suspension serves as a stern warning to any centre considering similar actions. Any centre found uploading blank templates in the future will face cancellation and will be barred from participating in the board’s activities,” the Board added.
The 2025 UTME registration, which started on Monday, February 3, will continue until Saturday, March 8.
CBT centres are approved registration points where candidates register for the JAMB-administered UTME, an entrance examination into Nigerian tertiary institutions.
These centres are licensed and accredited by JAMB.
