Nurses, under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, will on Tuesday embark on a seven-day warning strike.
The nationwide strike will hold from Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
According to NANNM, the decision follows the expiration of a 15-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government over demands related to the review of allowances for health workers.
NANNM in a circular jointly signed by its 2nd National Vice President, Orolu Sesan, and Deputy General Secretary, Elder Otaru Daniel Shaibu, directed all state council leaders to mobilise members for the industrial action if the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare fails to meet the demands.
The circular instructed state leaders to convene meetings of relevant organs on Monday, July 28, in preparation for the strike.
NANNM said the strike will commence immediately after the ultimatum expires if the government does not address the association’s concerns.
