… following IPOB leader’s failure to open defence
Federal High Court, Abuja, has fixed November 20 for judgment in the terrorism charges brought by the federal government against the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Trial judge, Justice James Omotosho fixed the date on Friday following the blunt refusal of Kanu to open his defence as he had on several occasions indicated.
Earlier on Friday, Kanu had earlier filed a motion to challenge his trial on the ground that terrorism was no longer an offence in today’s Nigeria.
The IPOB leader claimed that the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act had been repealed and as such there are no valid charges against him.
