Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, has hailed Governor Monday Okpebholo for approving the recruitment of 500 teachers by the State Basic Education Board.
According to him, the step would not only boost learning, but signifies the beginning of a new dawn in the education sector of the state.
Iyamu, who resumed office on Wednesday after he was sworn in on Monday, said the administration had hit the ground running and that with the visionary leadership of the governor, the future of education in Edo State is set for transformation.
He added that the employment of 500 new qualified teaching positions underscores the administration’s commitment to quality education and improved learning standards of Edo schools.
The commissioner reiterated the importance placed on the education sector by the Okpebholo-led administration.
