Umar Faruk, Gusau

Former Zamfara Governor, Sen. Abdul’Aziz Yari has urged the residents of the state to shun the planned nationwide protest billed to start on August 1st.

Yari, who addressed an unprecedented crowd at his country home, Talata Mafara, stated that nationwide protest will have serious negative effects and capable of causing anarchy in the country.

He said the presidency of Bola Ahmad Tinubu means well for the citizens and ever ready to effect correction where necessary.

“We have seen what happened to other countries as a result of such protest, so we shall be very cautious not to plunge our beloved country into crisis”, he added.

Sen. Yari explained people should be very careful with the activities of the selfish and greed people who have good intention for the country.

“Let me reiterate that, people ought understand that, President Tinubu can bring hardship or hunger to the citizens, therefore, we have to return our affairs to God Almighty to solve the current hardship in the country”, he explained.

Yari, a Senator of Zamfara West maintained that, protest would never solve the current situation but rather worsen it.

According to him, those sponsoring the protest were doing it for their selfish need not for the masses.

Sen. Yari therefore, appealed to the people of Zamfara state to have a second taught and distance themselves from the protest and protesters.
