Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West), has congratulated the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, on his fresh appointment as the Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Senator Adeola, popularly called Yayi by his supporters, commended Governor Abiodun for doing the right things always among traditional rulers.
He noted that by the inauguration of the Olu of Ilaro as the Chairman of the Council of Obas in the state, the Governor has further given all and sundry a sense of belonging in the scheme of things in Ogun State.
The lawmaker, who is also the Aremo of Yewaland, conveyed his congratulatory message to the Monarch through a statement on Tuesday by his media aide, Chief Kayode Odunaro.
He described Oba Olugbenle as a highly educated and modernised monarch, expressing confidence that the newly inaugurated chairman of the royal fathers in Ogun State will bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to drive the developmental roles of traditional institutions in the state.
Senator Adeola stressed that traditional rulers have a crucial role to play in the area of security, safety and good order in the society, all of which are pre-requisites in the development and well-being of the society.
“I am not in doubt that your tenure will bring great development for the traditional institutions in the state as well as general development of the society through wise royal counsel. I congratulate you and all our royal fathers for your positive roles in the society,” the statement added.
