The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi, has facilitated the construction and furnishing of an ultramodern police station in Ibara, Abeokuta South Local Government Area, as part of his continuing investment in security infrastructure and community development.

The newly completed police station is equipped with two units of three-bedroom residential bungalows for police personnel, a 30KVA generator, a 15KVA solar inverter, air-conditioning systems and modern water facilities, providing essential infrastructure to support effective policing and improve the working conditions of officers.

Beyond the physical structures, the project addresses an important aspect of security management: the welfare of personnel responsible for protecting lives and property.

With suitable accommodation, reliable electricity and improved operational facilities, police officers are better positioned to respond to emergencies, maintain a consistent presence within their areas of responsibility and discharge their duties in a more conducive environment.
The provision of residential quarters within the facility is particularly significant, as it can reduce accommodation challenges for officers and support faster mobilisation when urgent security situations arise.

For residents of Ibara, Abeokuta and surrounding communities, the police station represents an opportunity for improved access to law enforcement services, stronger community policing and more effective coordination of security operations.
The project also highlights the broader importance of infrastructure investment to Ogun State’s economic and social development.
Security is fundamental to commercial activities, industrial expansion, investment attraction and the everyday well-being of citizens. Businesses are better able to operate, investors can make long-term plans and communities can thrive when adequate security infrastructure is supported by effective policing.

Senator Adeola’s infrastructure interventions extend beyond security facilities to road construction and rehabilitation, educational infrastructure, healthcare facilities, agricultural support and community development projects across different parts of Ogun State.
These investments have the potential to generate significant benefits for the state. Better road networks can reduce transportation difficulties and improve access to markets, while modern educational facilities can strengthen learning opportunities and human capital development. Investments in healthcare and security infrastructure can also improve access to essential services and contribute to the overall quality of life of residents.
Importantly, the spread of such projects across communities underscores the value of extending public infrastructure beyond major urban centres. When communities benefit from improved roads, schools, security facilities and other essential amenities, the foundations for more balanced economic growth and social inclusion become stronger.
The newly completed Ibara Police Station is another addition to the infrastructure projects facilitated by Senator Adeola, whose interventions have continued to draw attention to the role of legislative representation in securing federal projects and responding to community needs.

Ultimately, the long-term benefits of these investments will depend on effective utilisation, proper maintenance and sustained institutional support. With these measures in place, Ogun State stands to benefit from stronger public services, improved security capacity, greater economic opportunities and better living conditions for its people.
