Brazil U-17 women’s head coach, Rilany Silva, has explained why Nigeria defeated her team 3-1 in the semi-final of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup encounter.

Rilany watched as goals from Queen Joseph and Awawu Bashiru (2) ensured Nigeria defeated Brazil in Morocco.

Speaking at her post-match interview, Rilany admitted that her team made technical mistakes against Nigeria.

According to her, Brazil suffered a lot from transitions and counter-attacks against the Flamingos.

“Just like against Ghana, when you make technical mistakes against teams that are more physical than those we are used to facing, you will pay for that,” Rilany said.

“We made a lot of mistakes in simple passes. We suffered a lot from the transitions and counter-attacks.”

Brazil will face North Korea in the third-place final on Saturday.
