A group, Youth for Good Governance has lashed out at the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Edo State, Monday Okpehbolo for saying he would not need English language to govern the state.
The youth group said he was hiding his inefficiency in communication, knowing too well that effective communication remains a vital tool in governance.
Justina Monday, in a statement by the group, said Okpehbolo needed effective communication to repair what he had in mind, as he can’t repair what he doesn’t understand.
“This has gone to show that Okpehbolo is not capable to govern Edo state. You can’t repair what you don’t understand,” the group said.
The group therefore advised the APC candidate to go back to school and leave the race for those who are ready, willing and qualified to govern the state.
“Go back to school and stop deceiving yourself,” the group advised Okpehbolo.
It will be recalled that during the week, the APC candidate had maintained that he was in the race for the governorship to repair the damages in the state as “he would not need outlandish English to achieve this.”
Okpehbolo has been criticized for lacking in communication skills because of his alleged low level of educational qualifications.
He is said to have, because of his educational limitations, been dodging debates with the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo.
