…as national leadership faults parallel Congress

Seun Shotunde, Abeokuta

The African Democratic Congress(ADC) in Ogun State has reconstituted its leadership, with Otunba Dr. Femi Soluade re-emerging as State Chairman at a rancor-free State Executive Congress held at the party secretariat in Itoko, Abeokuta.

The exercise was supervised by the party’s national delegation led by Chief Moshood Salvador, stressing that the Congress followed due process and constitutional arrangements of the party

The congress recorded a huge turnout of accredited delegates from the 20 Local Government Areas across the state as officials adhered strictly to electoral guidelines ensuring all aspirants undergoing thorough screening to uphold internal democracy.

The party returned Soluade, Deputy State Chairman Prince Babatunde Adedeji and State Secretary, Hon. Agbebiyi Olusoji alongside other officers unopposed as the Party’s Legal Adviser Barrister Femi Aina swore in the new executive committee.

Although another parallel state Congress was held by a faction loyal to Former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Speaking on the rivalry Congress, Salvador expressed dissatisfaction at the parallel Congress accusing the former Governor of Osun State Ogeni Rauf Aregbesola of being the brain behind what he described as “proper fake” Congress.

He cautioned Aregbesola against disrupting the structure of the party in Southwest in an attempt of being leader in the zone, insisting that ADC would resist any plan to factionalized the party in the region.

Salvador also urged the new part executive to shun corruption and not be intimidated by the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) noting that the party remains unbearable in 2027 elections.

“It is proper fake, Aregbesola is the one trying to disorganise this Southwest he taught Bola Tinubu just become the leader of Southwest in one day. It now trying to manipulate and spoil everything and we wil not allow him to get anything spoilt. Is Aregbesola, I repeat it is Aregbesola.

“To be very upright, Zero corruption, well prepared and not be intimidated” he noted.

Earlier, in his speech, Soluade called on members to be actively involved in the party’s activities and embark on massive mobilization in all 20 Local Councils for the party’s victory at the polls come 2027.

“It is a pleasure to have conducted this Congress successful without any hitch despite those who are trying to have a illusion of having parallel Congress elsewhere which is null and void and dead on arrival. African Democratic Congress is one, they are like a stray dog and with time they will come back to us”.

Our Congress was conducted as you can witness at the legitimate place state Secretariat of African Democratic Congress and we were elected because there was only one form for one aspirant who later became candidate and the executive members have been sworn in because we are the alternative that is waiting in the wind to take the leadership of Nigeria.” he added.
