Kwacham’s homecoming shuts down Mubi, crowds push for 2027 Senate bid‎‎‎‎

‎The ancient town of Mubi in Adamawa State came to a standstill on Thursday as a mammoth crowd of supporters turned out in massive numbers to welcome home Alhaji Abdulrahman Buba Kwacham, popularly known as “Kwacham,” from a recent trip.
‎
‎Streets leading into the town were littered with enthusiastic supporters waving banners, chanting slogans, and dancing to traditional music as the convoy of the respected politician and unity advocate made its way through the metropolis.
‎
‎The homecoming, which effectively shut down normal activities in Mubi, has further amplified growing calls for Kwacham to contest the Adamawa North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
‎
‎Supporters from across the five local government areas that make up the northern senatorial zone; Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North, and Mubi South converged on the town, describing the reception as a clear signal of grassroots acceptance and readiness for a new era of representation.

‎
‎Mr. James, a staunch supporter from Madagali LGA who travelled several kilometres to welcome Kwacham, said the people have waited long enough for quality leadership.
‎
‎“Alhaji Kwacham is not just a politician; he is a father to all of us in the north. We are tired of empty promises. He has the experience, the network, and the heart to fight for our people in the Senate. We are saying it loud and clear today: Kwacham, run for Senate in 2027!”
‎
‎Mallam Suleiman, a resident of Mubi South, echoed similar sentiments while waving a large banner bearing Kwacham’s portrait.
‎
‎“Today Mubi is happy because our son has returned. Kwacham has shown he can bring everybody together. He is the only one who can unite all APC stakeholders under one strong umbrella for total victory in 2027. We are ready to mobilise for him from house to house.”
‎
‎Mama Joy, a respected woman and  resident of Hong LGA, could not hide her excitement as she addressed the cheering crowd.
‎
‎“Kwacham is a man of peace and development. Look at this massive crowd; women, youths, and elders all came out because we believe in him. If he runs for Senate, Adamawa North will finally have a voice that speaks for the common man. We are begging him today: please answer our call and contest. We will stand with you till victory.”
‎
‎Mr. Jaja from Maiha LGA, who joined the welcome party with a large delegation of youths, hailed Kwacham’s recent political moves. “His coming together with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is like a bulldozer movement.
‎
‎“No force can stop this combination. It is the right person at the right time. Kwacham understands our problems; insecurity, agriculture, education, and youth unemployment. We want him in the Senate to push our agenda at the national level. The call is getting louder every day across northern Adamawa.”
‎
‎Kwacham’s homecoming has come at a critical moment when the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State is undergoing significant realignment under Governor Fintiri.
‎
‎Many describe Kwacham as a bridge-builder who has worked tirelessly to reconcile various APC factions and bring supporters under one umbrella.
‎
‎His supporters believe that his unifying efforts, combined with the governor’s renewed APC structure, will create an unbeatable force for the 2027 polls. “This is not ordinary politics,” one party chieftain remarked. “It is a movement for genuine representation and development.”
‎
‎Kwacham, who holds the traditional title of Sarkin Fulani Mubi Emirates, has a long history of community service and youth mobilisation dating back to the 1990s. He previously contested the senatorial seat under another platform before aligning with the APC, a move many see as strategic for broader impact.
‎
‎As the chants of “Kwacham for Senate!” rented the air throughout the day, the atmosphere in Mubi was electric with optimism.

‎
‎Supporters insist that the time is ripe for Kwacham to take up the mantle and provide the focused, result-oriented representation the zone desperately needs.
‎
‎While Kwacham is yet to make any formal declaration regarding his political ambition, the overwhelming reception and growing chorus of voices suggest that the demand for his candidature is becoming difficult to ignore.
‎
‎Party leaders and stakeholders across Adamawa North are expected to intensify consultations in the coming weeks as the countdown to 2027 begins in earnest.
