Senator representing Ogun West in the National Assembly and the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has assured workers in the state of prosperity and commensurate rewards in the nearest future.
Senator Adeola Yayi stated this on Friday in his message to workers in the state on the occasion of the 2026 International Workers’ Day.
He vowed to continue to support the enactment of policies that reward work.
According to the lawmaker, the “labour of workers in the state must produce prosperity in our time.”
Extolling workers in the state, Senator Yayi noted that inspite of the prevailing economic situation in the country, they have persevered and continued to make sacrifices to ensure the wheels of governance, industry and the economy in the state continue to roll unhindered.
He stated, “In a time of economic adjustment, you have carried Nigeria on your shoulders with patience, honesty and quiet sacrifice. The Gateway State works because you work.
“On this International Workers’ Day, I stand with you in gratitude and respect. You’re the hands that teach our children, heal our sick, till our farms, trade in our markets, keep our civil service running and power our factories in Agbara,Ewekoro and Sagamu.”
The APC consensus governorship candidate, who is currently Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations further noted that he has continued to “legislate and appropriate for policies that make work rewarding in Ogun West and across Nigeria.”
He added that in his capacity as a member of the National Assembly, he has also “facilitated investments in vocational training and MSME credit, roads and power that support industry, and health and education facilities that dignify the worker and the worker’s family.”
