…targets 60,000 votes from Ogun West headquarters
Senator representing Ogun West and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi, has stated that Ilaro, the administrative headquarters of Ogun West Senatorial District, is transforming to a “small London “ in fulfillment of the promise he made at the inception of his senatorial mandate.

Making the declaration at a programme organised by “Ilaro Parapo for Yayi” with the theme, “Unity, Development and Political Future of Ilaro District”, attended by thousands of Ilaro indigenes from Ilaro District of Yewa South LGA, Senator Adeola said the infrastructural development he had facilitated for the town in the area of roads, health care, education, security and electricity, among others, has radically changed the socio-physical outlook of the town.

“I made a promise to turn Ilaro and environs to “small London” and I have worked seriously towards it in the areas of infrastructural development that I facilitated to the town. I also facilitated the making of the town to a university town through the enactment of the law that upgraded Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to Federal University of Technology, Ilaro,” he stated in a statement on Saturday by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council, High Chief Kayode Odunaro.
He told the people that voting for him and other APC candidates is a vote for themselves and future development, stressing that he expects more than 60,000 votes from Ilaro District of Yewa South LGA.

In a welcome address, Omoba Segun Adewale(OSA), said Senator Adeola is 100 per cent from Ilaro, stressing that the indigenes of Ilaro are poised to deliver 100 per cent votes of the 80,000 registered voters that have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

He said that the unanimous decision to massively vote for Senator Adeola is premised on his work and achievements as well as the struggle to end 50 years of injustice against Ogun West Senatorial District, which had prevented the zone from producing a governor for the state.
“However, voting for Senator Adeola Yayi is not only for projects and development in Ilaro and Ogun West, but for all Ogun State as he has started work in other senatorial districts of the state” he stated.

Three Ilaro academicians from Ilaro, Professor Tope Popoola, Professor Taiwo Edun and Dr. Mukhail Akinde delivered papers on the theme and pleaded for unity and massive votes for Senator Adeola.
Among the dignitaries at the occasion were the Minister of State for Health and Social Services, Dr. Kunle Salako; Hon. Muftau Ajibola, Third Republic State legislator; Hon. Latefat Ajayi, Deputy Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly; Engr. Tommy Akintomide, Chief Mrs. Iyabo Apampa and Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele, APC senatorial candidate for Ogun West, among others.
