Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Mr Bayo Onanuga, has described President Bola Tinubu’s supporters as “MAD” about his re-election bid in 2027.
Onanuga stated this in a post on X while reacting to comments by the African Democratic Congress presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, who criticised Tinubu’s economic policies.

Amaechi while speaking at a town hall meeting in Benin City, Edo State, had said only “mad people” and “thieves” would vote for Tinubu in the 2027 election.
While also faulting the president’s economic policies, Amaechi described the removal of the fuel subsidy as “reckless”, adding that Edo residents who voted for Tinubu would be “mad”.
Onanuga in his reaction wrote, “Rotimi Amaechi: Yes, we, the followers and supporters of President Tinubu, are truly MAD. Read why we are.
“Motivated, driven by purpose and passion. Assured, confident in our vision and victory.
“Determined, focused, resolute, and unstoppable for President Tinubu’s re-election.”
