Police in the Federal Capital Territory have found a missing six-year-old boy, Haneem Hussaini Bello, and returned him to his parents in Abuja.
FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, disclosed this while handing over the child to his parents at the command headquarters in Abuja over the weekend.

He said the child was found wandering around the NNPC Towers in the Central Business District, Abuja, on September 4, 2026, and police officers took him to the command.
The police commissioner said the discovery followed the command’s appeal for public assistance in locating the child.
He said the child’s grandmother, who had been with him before he became separated from his family, was identified and contacted.
The FCT police boss recalled that Haneem had told operatives that he came to Abuja from Bauchi State with his mother and siblings for the summer break.
“According to the boy, they had gone to the Central Mosque for Juma’a prayer when he suddenly became separated from his mother and siblings and could no longer locate them,” he said.
Sanusi said the child was safely reunited with his parents after due verification.
The police commissioner appreciated members of the public for their support, cooperation and timely information, noting that the collective efforts of the police and the public led to the identification of the child’s family and his safe return to his loved ones.
