The Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr Paddy Emmanuel Iyamu, has said the state is collaborating with the Federal Government to enhance access to quality education by the people of the state.
Iyamu said the vision of Governor Monday Okpebholo is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, which is to build an inclusive and innovative education system.
He stated this in Benin while marking the International Education Day.
The Commissioner said, “International Education Day highlights education’s transformative power as a tool for societal development. In Edo State, under the visionary leadership of Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo and the dedicated efforts of the Ministry of Education which I humbly lead, significant strides are being made to enhance access to quality education.
“Edo State Ministry of education’s strategic collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education aligns with Governor Okpebholo and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on building an inclusive and innovative education system. These efforts prioritize improved infrastructure, teacher training, and curriculum development to ensure every Edo child is equipped for the future.
“The Okpebholo administration has created an enabling environment for transformative educational reforms, laying the foundation for a prosperous and equitable society. Edo State’s progress exemplifies the impact of leadership, collaboration, and investment in education, serving as a model for sustainable development.
“The remarkable strides being made in Edo State’s education sector are a testament to the visionary leadership of Governor Okpebholo. The efforts reflect a profound understanding that education is not merely a policy priority but a moral imperative. By investing in the future of Edo’s Children, he is laying the foundation for a prosperous and equitable society.”
Iyamu also gave the assurance that the commitment of the Okpebholo administration to quality education would not waver.
He added that provision of necessary infrastructure, recruitment of competent and qualified teachers and incentives to teachers and students would be the focal point of the administration.
