Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, says all the state needs most at this period is peace.

He stated this while mocking his detractors, saying, “Dogs bark when they don’t understand”.
Fubara spoke at the St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt, during the Inter-Denominational Church Service Service in commemoration of the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.
The Rivers Governor said he has the supreme God who will give the state the needed peace.
However, in a veiled reference to Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and members of the state House of Assembly, Fubara said, “When we were marking the New Year day, I said something, dog barks when they don’t understand… the reason I don’t complain is that I know what I have, I have the Supreme, that is God, I want you to relax, what is important in this our dear state is peace, and we will get it.”
The Rivers Governor has been locked in a political battle with Wike and the state House of Assembly members who are loyal to the Minister.
On Thursday, the Assembly issued the third impeachment notice to the governor in the last three years.
