Students of the Department of Nursing at Crescent University, Abeokuta have recorded another 100% in the 2024 Public Health Examinations.
In the same vein, the institution also recorded 95% in the 2024 RN Examinations.
These were unveiled by the Head of Department, Shafiu Adewole Ademola at a special ceremony organized by the university management to celebrate the feats.
Ademola praised the students for what he described as “remarkable success”, attributing the feats to their dedication and hard work of all faculty members as well as determination of the students to succeed.
“This is a significant moment for us as it is the first time in our department’s history that all students have excelled in these professional examinations”, he said.
The examinations covering both basic and post basic nursing programmes were conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria between Tuesday, November 5, to Saturday November 9,2024.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila went memory lane of a decade-long journey of the Department of Nursing and College of Health Sciences (COHES) of Crescent University, Abeokuta.
Congratulating the successful students and their parents, the vice chancellor stated that “from securing the necessary facilities to obtaining full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Nursing Council, we have ensured a solid foundation for our Nursing programme “.
Prof. Gbajabiamila also hinted that Crescent University’s Computer-based Test (CBT) Centre was on track for completion in December 2024 and would accommodate subsequent UTME and Nursing examinations.
Gbajabiamila welcomed the new Dean of COHES, Prof. Wahab Johnson, whom he described as a distinguished professor.
Also present at the ceremony were the new Deputy Registrar, Alhaji Hakeem Dowodu, Director of Academic Planning, Mr Adejare Aderibigbe, Senior Assistant Registrar, Mr Idris Katib and faculty members including Dr Maryam Oladipo, R. O. Poopola, S.A. Idris, O. L. Olumade, R. O. Wahab and Mr David Oluwole.
