Police in Ogun have arrested a 21-year-old butcher, Selim Ayodele, for allegedly stabbing his colleague to death following a disagreement over the sweeping of their workplace.
The incident happened last Sunday at a cow meat-selling outlet in Alagbole area of the state.

The deceased, 26-year-old Ibrahim Wasiu, was said to have been stabbed in the left side of his chest.
State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to him, the case was reported at Ajuwon Police Station at about 8 pm on the day of the incident, prompting swift police response.
Babaseyi stated that preliminary investigations revealed that both men had finished their day’s work when an argument broke out over who should sweep the floor.
“In the heat of the altercation, the suspect allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed the deceased in the left side of his chest before twisting the weapon,” Babaseyi said.
The victim was rushed to Life Hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
“His remains have been deposited at Life Channel Private Mortuary, Lanbe, Ajuwon, for autopsy.”
Babaseyi added that the suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue ahead of prosecution.
Meanwhile, State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to prompt response and thorough investigation of criminal cases.
He urged residents to exercise restraint, resolve disagreements peacefully and report criminal incidents promptly.
