All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for Ogun State and incumbent Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi,
has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to one Hon. Abayomi Hunye, a suspended member of the APC from Tube, Ipokia Local Government Area and one Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello of the Peoples Democratic Party to publicly present proofs of their libelous and false statements made on national television stations about his family’s ancestry or risk legal action.

Both Hunye and Marcus-Bello recently granted interviews on Channels Television programmes, where they claimed that Senator Adeola is an Ekiti State indigene, among other libelous claims, without presenting any evidence of proof of their allegations.
Senator Adeola, on Tuesday, therefore gave the two characters 24 hours to publicly present evidence of their allegations on his state of origin or face lawsuits on their false and libelous allegations on national television and which were also widely circulated on other media platforms, a statement by the lawmaker’s Chief of Staff and Media Adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro said.
The statement, made available to newsmen, is entitled, “Provide Evidence Of My Ekiti Origin Within 24-hours, Senator Yayi Threatens Lawsuits Against Hunye, Marcus-Bello.”
Quoting the Ogun APC governorship flagbearer, the statement said, “I watched in utter disbelief as these characters that I hardly know, utter assertive and outrageous lies about my origin without any proof. One falsely claimed on TV that I am from Ekiti and when asked where exactly in Ekiti, went moronically blank and could not provide an answer. The other one was lying about the locations of the graves of my parents as if she was part of the undertakers at the burial, all in a futile effort to justify an unsustainable falsehood. Enough is enough. They should produce their evidence in 24 hours or be ready for my lawsuits.”
Recall that the rumour of the Senator’s alleged Ekiti State origin was initially used as a propaganda to prevent his emergence as Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District.
The political gimmick however failed to prevent the people of the district from voting massively for him at the 2023 National Assembly Elections.
This latest resurrection of the same falsehood is pursuant of his seemingly unstoppable move to achieve a victorious outing in the 2027 governorship race in Ogun State.
