…participates in party primary election in Ilaro

Consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has assured that he will run an all-inclusive administration when elected as governor of the state in the 2027 general elections.

Adeola, popularly called Yayi, also commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the Thursday’s party governorship primary ahead of the 2027 polls.

The Ogun APC consensus governorship candidate stated these while speaking with newsmen on Thursday after voting in the governorship primary election in Pahayi, Ilaro Ward 2.

The lawmaker currently representing Ogun West in the Senate, described the peaceful conduct of the exercise as a reflection of the unity within the APC in Ogun West and the entire State, expressing satisfaction with reports from other parts of the state.

Senator Adeola further described the turnout of party members during the direct primary as a sign that the ruling party in the state remained strong ahead of next year’s polls.

Assuring party members in the state that he would run an all-inclusive government if elected governor of the state in 2027, he stressed, “I want to assure you that I will run inclusive governance and carry everyone along. It will be a government that will not leave any group or interest out.”

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation also dismissed claims that some aspirants were dissatisfied with his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate.

He stressed that his emergence was the outcome of consultations and agreements among APC stakeholders across the three senatorial districts of the state.

According to him, “I am not aware of aggrieved aspirants against my emergence as the governorship consensus candidate of our dear party. The decision to present me as the consensus candidate was not foisted on the party.

“Rather, it was as a result of far-reaching consultations and agreement among the stakeholders and leaders of the party across the three senatorial districts of the state.

“So, to my knowledge, nobody was cheated, nobody was disenfranchised. I was duly supported at the APC strategic meeting at the party secretariat. After that, I have gone to meet other aspirants, and we are going to work together for the betterment of the people of Ogun State.”

The APC consensus governorship candidate stressed that he would build on the achievements of the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun if elected next year as his successor.

Senator Adeola later embarked on the monitoring of the conduct of the APC governorship primary election in Ilaro Ward 2 and Sabo Ward 3, respectively.
