Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Adeola, popularly called Yayi, on Tuesday, picked up the N50million All Progressives Congress nomination forms for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
Senator Adeola Yayi’s forms were obtained on his behalf by High Chief Kayode Odunaro, his Chief of Staff.
The Ogun West Senator’s purchase of the forms signalled his entry into the race for the state’s number one political office.

Recall that Senator Adeola Yayi was recently endorsed by Governor Dapo Abiodun, his three predecessors – Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Senator Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun and party stakeholders as the Ogun APC’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, on Tuesday in Abuja, declared the process open and presented the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to Senator Adeola’s Chief of Staff, High Chief Odunaro.
Already, the Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027. The governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will subsequently hold on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
INEC also announced that party primaries, including the resolution of related disputes, will take place between April 23, 2026, and May 30, 2026.
The electoral umpire also stated that campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections will begin on August 19, 2026, while governorship and state assembly candidates will kick off their own election campaigns on September 9, 2026.
