Reinstated Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Emeka Beke, on Tuesday unfolded the condition under which the opposition party will work with Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Beke said the APC under his leadership, would work with Fubara if the Governor extends a hand of fellowship to the party.
Beke, who spoke on Arise TV Morning Show, noted that Fubara should be allowed to carry out his constitutional duties as Governor.
The reinstated chairman also dismissed any link between the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Fubara.
Beke said, “I worked with Rotimi Amaechi and he is my leader, and he has no link with Fubara.
“If he extends a hand of fellowship to APC, we will work with him and develop the state. We can’t continue fighting; Rivers is going backwards.
“You can’t have two governors in one state, even if your own son is made governor, you should allow him to function.
“We have finished the politicking; it’s now time for governance.”
Since Fubara assumed office, he and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, have been at loggerheads.
Fubara and Wike have been at each other’s throats over the control of the state’s political structure.
President Bola Tinubu’s interventions has failed to end the rift.
This situation has also factionalized the Rivers State House of Assembly, resulting in the emergence of two Speakers.
