A group, Edo Collectives has warned against the imposition of a leader on the market women in the state.
In a statement, the group said the desperation of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State to win the election, is making them look for all sorts of avenues to force their will on the people.
The group said this in response to the imposition of a leader on market women in Edo State.
Describing the situation as unfortunate, the group urged Edolites to resist any attempt to rob them of their freewill and independence to choose their own leaders, whether in the market or at the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
The statement signed by Pamela Osasuyi said imposing a staunch APC puppet as the leader of market women by the Iyaloja of Lagos was aimed at getting votes for a rejected party candidate, Monday Okpehbolo.
“The Iyaloja is an APC chieftain and is trying to impose a leader on Edo market women, who is also an APC supporter, this can’t stand.”
She said it was a grand plan to force Edo Market Women to vote for the APC governorship candidate.
The attempt to use Federal might to compel the electorate to vote for APC has been exposed and will be resisted and rejected, she said.
