The forthcoming edition of the popular monthly interview discourse, Boiling Point Arena, promises to be an exciting session as former President Olusegun Obasanjo will be firing from all cylinders to x-ray the state of governance in today’s Nigeria.

Boiling Point Arena holds on Sunday December 8, 2024 via Zoom and to be transmitted live on two radio stations, WASH 94.9FM, Lagos and Sweet 107.1FM, Abeokuta.

This coming edition of the global online discourse is the 26th installment since its debut in November 2022. Kick-off time for the interview is 8pm over a two-hour duration.

The topic of discourse is: *“One-on-One Interview With Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, His Legacies in Governance and Today’s Nigeria”.*

The once-in-a-month current affairs programme with an incredibly large online followership, is the brainchild of the Convener, Dr Ayo Arowojolu, a media professional with 34 years multi-varied work career spanning the media, banking and education sectors.

Obasanjo who has had the sheer grace of ruling over the nation for 12 years is eminently qualified to make a thorough assessment of the Nigeria Project  and pinpoint at what point exactly did the fortunes of the once-acclaimed Giant of Africa began to nosedive.

The Owu, Abeokuta-born retired General will also speak on his legacies while in government, both during the Military days and during his eight years two-term tenure especially the state of the economy, the nation’s debt profile, welfare of Nigerians and security.

Expectedly, Obasanjo will also assess the leadership capacity of past Nigeria leaders, those before him and succeeding Presidents after his tenure as well as the incumbent President Bola Tinubu.

Foremost traditional ruler, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, is expected to deliver a keynote address to herald the discourse, in his capacity as Chairman, Boiling Point Council of Royals and Elders.

According to a statement by the Chairman, Organizing Committee for the programme,  Dr Eddy Ademosu, one of Nigeria’s notable Public Relations Icon, the interview discourse will in particular point the way forward for reinventing the nation.

Dr Ademosu commended the Management of Sweet FM, chaired by its Promoter, Senator Olugbenga Obadara, and the owners of WASH 94.9FM for identifying with worthy causes through partnering with the Boiling Point platform to widen the audience reach of the programme through terrestrial and online channels.

BOILING POINT, a news and general interest Group comprises an array of eminent personalities including over 300 Professors, technocrats, industry leaders, High Court Justices, traditional rulers, security top shots, media professionals and several others.
