Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday fired another salvo at his detractors, saying he can’t be influenced against carrying out his duties.
He warned that prayers can’t stop him from performing his duty as the Minister of the FCT.
The FCT Minister stated this during the inauguration of the rehabilitated Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant at Lower Usuma Dam, in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council.
Wike used the occasion to reveal an incident that occurred before he assumed office as minister after his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
He said he was asked to bring pastors to pray before assuming office as Minister because a lot of “things” were done before him.
Wike said, “When I came to this place as a Minister, the first day I was to resume, people say go and bring pastors to pray because a lot of things have been done here. I said okay, I went there and nothing
“I will do my work and nobody can influence me, if you like pray for 24 hours it will not work.
“If it’s right, it will work but if it’s for your own selfish interest, for the government not to move forward, it will not work.
“I will do what is right if you like cry from morning till night.”
