Presidency says the United States airstrikes in Sokoto State targeted the ISIS and Lakurawa terrorist groups.

Presidential spokesman, Daniel Bwala, said the Islamic State militants came from the Sahel to work with the Lakurawa group and bandit gangs.
Bwala told AFP on Saturday, “ISIS found their way through the Sahel to go and assist the Lakurawa and the bandits with supplies and with training. ISIS, Lakurawa and bandits were targeted.”
US carried out attacks on terrorist enclaves in Sokoto State on Christmas Day.
Confirming the attack, the Nigerian government said it was a coordinated operation with the US.
