. Says ‘Iran must now agree to end this war” or prepare to get hit again
United States has formally joined in the ongoing war between Israel and Iran Islamic Republic.
Early Sunday, President Donald Trump confirmed the bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran by United States military.
In a social media post early on Sunday, Trump confirmed that the US military struck Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
The attacks mark America’s direct entry into Israel’s week-long military campaign to destroy Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities.
Trump tweeted early Sunday, “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
“All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home.
“There is not another military in the world that could have done this. Now is the time for peace.”
Trump in a separate post, informed that he would address Americans on the strikes, while describing the attack as a “historic moment”.
He stressed, “Iran must now agree to end this war”, warning that the Islamic Republic “will get hit” again if it fails to embrace peace.
Iranian government officials have confirmed the attacks on its nuclear sites, according to Tasnim News Agency.
Spokesperson of crisis management in Iran’s Qom province, Morteza Haydari, was quoted as saying that part of the Fordow nuclear plant was attacked by “enemy airstrikes”.
Similarly, security deputy governor of Isfahan, Akbar Salehi, said, “we saw attacks near the nuclear sites of Isfahan and Natanz”.
Earlier, Iran had threatened to retaliate if the US aligned with Israel on the military campaign.
Iran’s supreme leader,
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had threatened that any US strike targeting his country would “result in irreparable damage for them”.
Also, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaei had earlier threatened an “all-out war in the region” if the US joins the war.
