General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd), Taraba State Governor, Dr Kefas Agbu; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mufwang; Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State and former governor of Plateau State, Elder David Jonah Jang are set to storm Yola for a mega national award event organised by Gongola People’s Forum to honor their illustrious sons and daughters in Government.

The event is scheduled to hold on 29th June 2024 at the Mohmud Ribadu Square.

According to the Chairman of the occasion, Engr Marcus Gunduri, at a world press conference, the event is much more than an award ceremony of successful politicians who won various positions, irrespective of party affiliations in 2023.

Gunduri further explained that the gathering is to unite all the ethnic nationalities from Adamawa and Taraba (defunct Gongola) and their extended brothers, who are other ethnic nationalities from other states of Gombe, Plateau, Nassarawa, Southern Kaduna, and Bauchi.

Gunduri, a former gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Adamawa State, said the Saturday meeting is also to come to terms with the current economic realities of the nation to work out ways to navigate through it to escape from its excruciating pains.

He revealed that David Jang is the distinguished Chairman of the programme, while the Chief Celebrant is Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Governor of Adamawa State, and the Special Guest of Honour is TY Danjuma.

While guests of Honour are; Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mufwang, Taraba State Governor Kefas Agbu, and Chief David Ombugadu, Nassarawa PDP Governorship candidate while the guest speaker is Professor Jerry Gana.

Royal Father is Manu Ishaku, the Aku Uka of Wukari, Chief Hosts are; HRH Alhaji Adamu Sanda, Gagwari Ganye, Hamma Bachama HRH Humon Daniel Ismaila Shagaya, Hamma Batta Humon Gladstone Teneke, Murum Mbula, HRH Bwultumi Bentley, Kwandi Nunguriya, HRH Kuruheye Dishon Dan sands and Amma Shelleng, Abubakar Isah Dasong.

Gunduri further stressed that the Gongola people’s forum is a social-cultural association for the Indigenous people of Adamawa and beyond and a nonpolitical with no any political undertone plans

Gunduri who addressed journalists alongside other prominent members of the group in person of Mr Kube Akila Dwallam, Barr Leonard Zadok, Prince Medan Fwa, mni, and Kalep Filli said it’s a Journey they committed to walk to the end, replicating what is happening in every society in Nigeria.

He emphasized that the gathering is an extension of who are the people of Gongola from other states and some of the special dignitaries will deliver keynote addresses to the people in the interest of the nation.

“If you can go back to history, the Gongola people have been living together in parts of the country as far back as the seventh century, sharing and doing things collectively. It’s high time we go back to history and revisit these types of corporations that have been existing among the many tribes.

“The people are receptive, they are coming from Taraba, Gombe, Plateau, Bauchi, Nassarawa, and even Borno.to share general ideas on how to help develop the nation is the primary aim we are here.” Gunduri said
