Manchester United have reopened talks with Napoli over the signing of Victor Osimhen.
The club view Osimhen as the striker to lead their line next season and are keen to secure the services of the former Lille forward.
By all indications, the Nigeria international is unlikely to remain at the Italian side for the 2025–26 season.
Osimhen was loaned to Galatasaray by Napoli last season following the arrival of Antonio Conte, who preferred Romelu Lukaku in attack.
The Nigerian striker went on to score 37 goals and register eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, helping Galatasaray clinch the title.
According to Foot Mercato, Ruben Amorim’s side have now reopened discussions with the player.
Manchester United must bolster their squad after finishing the 2024–25 campaign just above the relegation zone.
The Red Devils managed only 44 goals in 38 Premier League matches last season.
Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, who were entrusted with the goalscoring duties, failed to make a significant impact.
However, the report adds that Osimhen is demanding a salary of around €12 million per year.
Napoli are reportedly holding out for a transfer fee of €75 million.
