January 17, 1963, marked the birth of a remarkable individual in Yola, Adamawa Province. Born to Late Mr. Mathias Upah and Late Mrs. Jemima Upah, Esther carried the heritage of the Igede nation with strength, dignity, and love. Her early years shaped her gentle yet resilient spirit, and education was her empowerment.

Esther’s academic pursuits took her to Ahmadu Bello University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science. She continued to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance from the University of Ife and a Master’s degree in International Business Management in Lagos.

Her professional journey began at the Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative Bank in 1988, but she soon joined the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1989. For 33 years, she served with excellence, rising from Senior Supervisor to Director. Colleagues remember her integrity, subordinates remember her kindness, and the institution remembers her mentorship.

But her greatest work was beyond titles and promotions. Pastor Esther carried a divine mandate to lift others. She sponsored young Igede girls, helped individuals secure employment, and provided financial support to those in crisis. She was a mother to the motherless, a sister to the lonely, and a refuge for the weary.

For 28 years, she worshipped faithfully in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and her faith was lived. On August 7, 2021, she was ordained a full Pastor by Pastor E.A Adeboye, affirming her ministry of hope, love, and grace. She believed we are saved to serve, ministering in church and the marketplace.

As a devoted wife and nurturing mother, her family was her joy. Her home was filled with warmth, wisdom, and prayer. Even in her final days, she remained a vessel of grace. On February 10, 2026, Pastor Mrs. Esther Morgan-Okwoche completed her earthly assignment.

Her life was fulfillment, a race well run, and a faith well kept. She leaves a void that cannot be filled, but a legacy that cannot be erased. Her life reminds us greatness is measured by how many lives are lifted because you lived. “Well done, good and faithful servant” .
