Top banker shot dead by suspected cultists
A top banker and employee of a new generation bank in Benin, Edo State, simply identified as Nosa, who was shot dead by armed cultists over the weekend in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Benin.
Reports say Nosa was in his office when he received a call from an unidentified person inviting him to a hangout after work.
Not suspecting any foul play, Nosa agreed to meet the callsr at their usual spot.
But on his way there, his assailants, who had been trailing him, blocked his car and opened fire.
Passersby rushed him to an undisclosed hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP (SP) Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident, describing it as unfortunate.
Nwabuzor said, “The matter is under investigation. Further information, as we progress in the investigation, will be made public by the command.”
The PPRO also gave an assurance that the killers of the promising banker would be brought to book, in order to serve as a deterrent to other criminally-minded persons.
