The sacked National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has insisted that the Supreme Court judgment removing him from office will not stop him from being in charge of the party.
Abure in a post on his X handle on Friday shortly after the apex court judgement wrote, “Barr Julius Abure still Remains The National Chairman of Labour Party.”
Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court set aside the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which had recognized Abure as the LP National Chairman.
A five-member panel of the apex court held that the Court of Appeal lacked the jurisdiction to pronounce Abure the National Chairman of the LP.
However, the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee said that LP remains steadfast in its mission to create a new Nigeria.
The Supreme Court also allowed the appeal filed by the Labour Party Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman and one other, declaring it meritorious.
