May 20th 2024 was the date. A letter from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation sealed it up. The announcement came. And Shehu Usman Mohammed’s name cropped up. An Assistant Corps Marshall he was. But now he is now the new Corps Marshall for the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.
And it is official, the new helmsman at the Corps headquarters in Abuja is Shehu Usman Mohammed. Sulukin Arewan Zaz’zau is his traditional title. He is a Prince from Zaria, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Not a novice on the job as he joined FRSC in 1992, few years after his graduation from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He is a young man in a hurry but resolute and focus to write his name in gold. He is bowing to the overpowering zeal to serve humanity. His strength of character and no-nonsense reputation for getting results is not in doubt.
He has traversed different sections of the Corps both at the headquarters in Abuja and outside command posts in the last 32 years.

One distinguished legacy he was always leaving anywhere he was posted to was hard work and transformation.

With a humble background, he had his primary school education at Kwarbai Local Education Authority, Zaria and later proceeded to Kufena College, Wusasa, Zaria.
An unassuming workaholic, he has the Midas touch, hence he continuously tells those who care to listen that a new sheriff has come to effect the transformation in the FRSC.
Shehu Mohammed has a philosophy that humility is the solid foundation of all virtues.
He actually began his career in FRSC when he was posted to Kaduna Sector Command as the Sector Accountant.
Mohammed was at the Sokoto Command and following the expansion of hierarchy at the headquarters in 1996, which culminated in general enlistment of core professionals into the Corps, he was moved to the headquarters as Staff Officer, Finance, where he held forth for three years.
