As Nigerians mark the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Ogun Central Federal Constituency, Engineer Samuel Oluwafẹmi Abiọdun-Oni, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring that the country will soon experience positive change.
In an Independence Day message, Abiọdun-Oni congratulated Nigerians, the people of Ogun State, and residents of Ogun Central, while acknowledging the economic difficulties currently confronting citizens.
The ADC candidate said although the prevailing economic situation remains challenging, Nigerians should not lose hope, stressing that the difficulties being experienced today would eventually become a thing of the past.
He expressed optimism that through prayers and collective efforts, Nigeria would continue to make progress and overcome its present challenges.
Abiọdun-Oni said:
“I congratulate all Nigerians on the occasion of our 66th Independence Anniversary.
“I want to urge all of us to remain hopeful because we are confident that positive change will come soon. Let us not lose hope, because the challenges we are facing today will eventually become history.”
The candidate also called for greater unity, love and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, urging citizens to ensure that peace remains the foundation of the nation.
He further cautioned against violence and other acts capable of disrupting the peace as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
According to him, Nigerians must remember that they are one people and should continue to live together in peace and harmony.
Turning to Ogun Central, Abiọdun-Oni appealed to voters in the constituency to support his candidacy in the 2027 election.
He said:
“I want you to use your voter cards to elect me as your representative in Abuja in the 2027 election.
“Whatever strength God gives me, I will dedicate it to serving you, and I will not waste your time if elected.
“Once again, I congratulate all Nigerians on the Independence Anniversary we are celebrating today.”
