…for efficient service delivery

The management and editorial board of Penpushing Media, owner of online newspaper and television, on Tuesday, appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts to upgrade and provide the necessary equipment and working tools for its media agencies, to enhance efficient service delivery to the people.

Chairman of the board, Mrs Olufunke Fadugba made the call during a courtesy visit by the editorial board members of the media outlet to the management of Paramount FM, an arm of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in Abeokuta.

Fadugba, who led a delegation, including Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Founder) and Sir Eddy Aina (Editorial Contents Chairman) during the visit, observed that the conditions of equipment in many Federal Government institutions had become worrisome.

“If Paramount FM must shine in Ogun State competing with others, the government must provide the tools that will make the station stand out’, Fadugba emphasised.

Fadugba, a veteran broadcast journalist, pointed out that the situation was hampering the skills and knowledge of workers to contribute meaningfully to nation building.

The Editorial board chairman expressed joy on the appointment of Mrs Oluremi Olugbenro, as new and first indigenous General Manager of the station, and also a member of the Penpushing platform.

She expressed optimism that the appointment of Olugbenro had added another feather to the cap of the Editorial Board of Penpushing Media, which had over two hundred and fifty members across the world.

The Chairman equally advised Olugbenro to embrace humility, hardwork and team spirit in the discharge of the new task, encouraging the members of staff to provide the necessary support in the quest to take the station to an enviable height.

‘Let me say this, from us at Penpushing Media we are proud of the new General Manager. Her success lies in your hands. If you don’t support her to succeed, then the wind of change may be quickly terminated’, Fadugba emphasised

She assured the management of the 22-year-old radio station of Penpushing Media support at all time and prayed for successful tenure of the Olugbenro-led management’

The Founder of Penpushing Media Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji earlier in his speech while introducing members of the editorial board described the new General Manager a competent and proactive colleague in the journalism profession.

Kayode-Adedeji said he was optimistic that Olugbenro will contribute positively and meaningfully in transforming the station to enviable position

The General Manager, in response appreciated the members of the Board for the visit, describing the Penpushing media as a reservoir of information and entertainment, comprising thorough-breed professionals.

Olugbenro noted that the mission of the organisation aligned with the Federal Road Corporation of Nigeria, (FRCN), which aimed at providing impartial, credible, proactive and creative broadcasting for national development, hence the need for mutual working relationship.

The radio station boss, confirmed that the first official visit to the station after she took over came from Penpushing Media, adding that she was also proud to be associated with the organisation

She equally commended the management and staff of the station for their moral support since her assumption of office and appealed for them to sustain the tempo and promised in ensuring that the positive impact of all staff is felt.

The management staff of the radio station to receive Penpushing Media team include Mr. Tunji Idowu (Head of News), Mr. Yusuf Adetunji (Head of Procurement), Mr. Sowunmi (Administrative Officer), Mr. Osunlana (Head of Audit), Mr. Ayodeji Omotosho (OB and Sports), Mr. Dapo Oyekanmi (Head of Programmes), and Mr. Soji (Head of Finance).

Meanwhile, the management of the Paramount F.M, later took the visiting editorial board of Penpushing Media, on facility tour of the station, which include the studio, newsroom among others
